How to Use Foursquare to Your Advantage for Your Business

If you are not familiar with Foursquare, it’s time you became more in-tune with what’s happening on the net. Foursquare is a rather interesting site – it is a social geo-location tool, and a number of users online have certainly been captivated by the site. Foursquare lets you tell other users where you are at any given moment and leave a comment too, whether you are at the mall, a neighborhood park, a pub, a restaurant, or anywhere else.

Great, but how can Foursquare help your business? How can it aid your business in growing? Let’s look at some tips that can help you use Foursquare to promote your business.

1. Reward the first registered customer visit. He or she will feel important and valued. They are likely to return to your business when you reward them with a gift, for being the first registered customer to check in.
2. Offer discounts to those individuals who “check in” at your business. Ask the user to prove check in by showing you their cell phone. You can use this promotion once or twice a week.
3. Reward your most frequent customers. This is by far the easiest way to promote your business using Foursquare, and reward the ambassador of your business.
4. You can develop a relationship that’s more personal with your customers. You will know which customer visits your business the most through higher status. But you will also frequently be in contact with your customers, along with reconnect with those you have not seen in some time.
5. Reward the number of visits. The app will tell you the number of times each person checks in to your business. Let them know that by reaching various visit numbers (i.e. the 5th, 10th, 15th, etc) their first item will be free.
6. Learn what other businesses do. There are many different ways that you can use Foursquare to promote your business. You are limited only by your imagination. Foursquare’s certainly doesn’t stop you from using your imagination.
7. You can take advantage of specials that are nearby to your business. Do a publication for a special area. When the user checks in near other businesses that are promoted on Foursquare, a notification of a special offer is sent out.

Take the time to review and analyze the data from your customers. Listen to what it is they have to say about you on Foursquare. Knowing what they are saying and what they are thinking can help you to create other promotions to draw them back and to keep them happy.
